KRAVGI AMEA is seeking in-person volunteers in Athens to support families of children and adolescents with severe autism and high support needs.
Volunteers will contribute, according to their background and under appropriate guidance, to practical family support, structured activities, companionship, observation and recording of needs, support of communication and daily living skills, and assistance during organised activities of the Association.
The role is particularly suitable for students, graduates or professionals in Psychology, Special Education, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Education, Health and Social Care, as well as individuals with relevant experience or a strong interest in disability support.
Previous experience with autism is desirable but not essential, provided that the volunteer is willing to receive guidance and follow the Association’s procedures. Reliability, patience, responsibility, respect for the dignity and rights of persons with disabilities, confidentiality and consistency are essential.
The volunteering opportunity will take place in person in Athens from September 2026. Scheduling will be arranged according to the needs of participating families and the availability of volunteers.
Volunteers will work within defined roles and will not undertake clinical, therapeutic or crisis-management responsibilities unless appropriately qualified and authorised.

Volunteers will gain meaningful hands-on experience in the field of severe autism, disability and family support. They will have the opportunity to develop practical communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, gain insight into the everyday needs of families living with severe autism, participate in social-impact activities and become part of the wider network and initiatives of KRAVGI AMEA. Guidance and orientation will be provided according to the volunteer’s role and background. A certificate of volunteering may be provided upon successful completion of the agreed volunteering period.
